How Long Does It Take to Ship Furniture From China to the U.S.?

Every Yeswood piece sold by YesWood Home ships from stock in China; there is no local inventory in North America. For in-stock items, expect about 5–7 weeks from order to your door: dispatch within 7 business days, then about 25–40 days in transit from China to the U.S. Items whose title shows "[N-Day Preorder]" also need the stated preparation time first.

Here's where that time goes, what shipping costs cover, and what can make delivery take longer.

Timeline from order to delivery: dispatch within 7 business days, about 25–40 days in transit

Where the time goes: 8 order stages

Large cross-border furniture doesn't get a single tracking number the moment you pay. Your order moves through these stages:

  1. Order confirmed: model, configuration, quantity, address and delivery service are checked.
  2. Preparing stock in China: in-stock items are dispatched within 7 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays).
  3. Packing and export preparation: items are packed for large-furniture transport and the box count is checked.
  4. International shipping: the ocean leg is the longest part of the journey.
  5. Arrival and customs clearance.
  6. Handed to the local carrier: local tracking usually appears only after this step.
  7. Scheduling delivery: the local carrier contacts you by phone, text or email to book a time.
  8. Delivered.

Stages 4 to 7 take about 25–40 days together. That's an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date.

Why is there no local tracking right after dispatch?

While your furniture is at sea and in customs, it's in the hands of the international shipping and clearance chain; no U.S. carrier has it yet, so there's no local tracking number. Local tracking appears once the shipment clears customs and is handed to the local carrier. Until then, we update your order by stage, and you can email us any time to ask where it is and what comes next.

What does shipping cover?

Prices don't include shipping. The cost of moving furniture across the ocean comes mainly from:

  • reinforced packing for large furniture
  • international ocean freight
  • customs clearance and destination port charges
  • last-mile delivery in the U.S. or Canada

Base shipping to lower-cost U.S. areas is about US$249; other areas cost more depending on delivery costs. It isn't a single nationwide rate, and it isn't a fixed final price for every item, quantity or address. The applicable charges are confirmed at checkout or in a written quote before you pay, and what's included is whatever the checkout or quote lists. For Canada and special addresses, please ask us for a quote first.

What does standard delivery include?

Standard delivery is door-to-door: to the front door of a house, or the lobby or first safe, dry area of an apartment building. It doesn't include carrying inside, stairs, assembly, placement or packaging removal. Room-of-choice delivery and white-glove delivery (unpacking, basic assembly, placement and packaging removal) must be confirmed before payment, including whether they're available locally and what they cost.

What can make it take longer?

  • Preorder items are prepared for the stated number of days before dispatch.
  • Vessel schedules and ports: peak-season space and port congestion lengthen the ocean leg.
  • Customs inspections add time to clearance.
  • Weather and carrier capacity affect onward transport and delivery.
  • Appointments and addresses: remote areas, building booking rules, rescheduling or missed deliveries push the date back.

If there's a delay, we'll tell you why and give a new estimate. Where the law requires your consent to a delay or a refund, we'll follow it.

FAQ

Do the 25–40 days start on the day I order?

No. 25–40 days is transit time after dispatch. In-stock items take up to 7 business days to dispatch before that, and preorder items add their preorder days.

Is it the same for Canada?

The times here use China to the U.S. as the reference. For Canadian orders, send us your postal code and we'll confirm timing and cost.

What if I'm on a deadline?

Contact us before you pay. We'll check the item, vessel schedule and address to see whether your date can be met.
